Welcome to our family’s adoption blog! Thank you for taking the time to visit and catch up with us. We’ve created this site as a centralized hub for sharing with all our family, friends, and other supporters updates, announcements, prayer requests, or just whatever else is on our hearts pertaining to our adoption journey! We also want to use this site for our fundraising efforts and to answer your questions about adoption. So why are we adopting?
So many of you traveled this road with us during our first adoption journey, and some of you are new friends that we have met since, so we wanted to share with you why we have chosen to go down this path.
So why adoption? Simply put, this is God’s plan for us to build our family. We had been married for a few years when we decided we wanted to start our family, but after a few years we weren’t able to conceive. We talked and prayed about fertility treatments, but ultimately believed it was not what God was leading us to.
Our greatest desire was to become parents! We shed tears over it. Prayed over it. We wanted to share our lives and our love with a child and to raise them up to know and love God as we do. God was working in us to reveal His plan, and after talking and praying for several months, we both agreed that He was leading us to adopt a child.
Adoption was always something we considered from the beginning of our marriage. It’s even a part of our family history. David’s great-great-grandparents ran a children’s home in North Dakota for over 25 years, caring for orphans and providing them loving homes. They also adopted a child that had come into the home.
God also spoke to us about adoption through our church family. While we were members at Calvary Church in Clearwater, we became friends with several families who had built their families through adoption. We listened and asked questions about their experiences. David produced videos that shared some of their adoption stories. Through all of this, we believe God has led us to become more passionate about building our family through adoption. We anxiously wait for when we can welcome our next child home!

As many of you know from personal experience or from hearing about our previous adoption, this can be a long and difficult journey, but also extremely rewarding! We will do our best to share as often as we can, but also know that there are some things we’re not comfortable sharing for all the world to know! If you have a question you’d like to ask or something you’d like to discuss, just let us know – we promise we will tell you if there’s something we prefer not to discuss!
